Blizzard is a retired sled dog wintering at YMCA Camp Menogyn on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. While I stayed at the lodge with a group of painters for the Grand Marais Art Colony's annual Winter Plein Air event in February, Blizzard played the role of friendly host. I painted him napping on the deck of the lodge.
